Microchip Technology Inc. Announces High-Precision Voltage Reference IC, Offering Ultra-Low Drift for Automotive and Industrial Applications Across a Wider Operating Temperature Range
The new device enhances the Vref product lineup with increased reliability and AEC-Q100 certification.
Microchip Technology Inc., a leading provider of intelligent, connected, and secure embedded control solutions, today announced the launch of a high-precision voltage reference (Vref) IC designed to meet the demands of automotive and industrial applications requiring low drift, high reliability, and high performance across a wider operating temperature range, at a cost-effective price point. The new MCP1502 is an AEC-Q100 Grade 1 (operating temperature range of -40 °C to +125 °C) automotive certified Vref, boasting a maximum temperature coefficient of 7 ppm/°C.
Fanie Duvenhage, Vice President of Microchip's Mixed Signal and Linear Product Line, stated: "Microchip has identified the top four requirements for Vref from our customers and has developed a product that offers high reliability, small package size, and high performance, all at a very attractive price. This combination of features at this price point, particularly with our experience serving the automotive and aerospace industries where robust products are needed to withstand harsh environments, makes it unmatched by competitors."
Based on the market-proven architecture of the MCP1501 Vref, which has been available for over five years, the MCP1502 comes in a small six-lead SOT-23 package, making it an ideal choice for various industrial, automotive, and aerospace applications requiring high reliability. The MCP150x devices (MCP1501 and MCP1502) are the perfect complement to Microchip's microcontrollers, ADCs, and DACs, offering a variety of voltage options for creating complete system solutions suitable for applications needing stable, accurate, and repeatable data conversion. The MCP1502 is available in most commonly used voltage grades from 1V to 4V, starting at $1.09.
